A season that once seemed lost is still very much alive for the SDSU women’s basketball team. On Sunday the Aztecs took down Texas 74-63 on the Longhorns’ home floor in Austin. Jene Morris led the way with 32 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals, and was named the ESPN.com Player of the Day for her efforts.
Monday, the Aztecs practiced in preparation for their second-round battle on Tuesday against 3rd seeded West Virginia. After returning to the hotel, Jene joined 619 Sports via phone to talk about the incredible journey her team has taken, from the lows of the conference regular season to the MWC tournament championship, and now a chance to advance to the Sweet 16!
Jene’s exclusive interview is after the jump. Be sure to follow Jene on Twitter for her all-access tweets from inside the NCAA Tournament!
