Lorenzo Neal is one of the biggest names to come out of the Fresno State football program, and he still has close ties with the Bulldogs. As such, Neal has mentored Ryan Mathews over the past year, and along the way Lorenzo has become a big fan of the powerful running back.
Lorenzo is also very close friends still with LaDainian Tomlinson, so he has a unique perspective on both the future Hall of Famer who is leaving San Diego, and the young back who is coming to take his place.
619 Sports caught up with Lorenzo to talk about the Chargers draft, recent comments by L.T. about not wanting to retire as a Charger as long as A.J. Smith is in the front office, and more. We also talked about Flavors of the Gaslamp, the 3rd annual get-together downtown for which Lorenzo is a presenting host.
