Which immature Chargers stars should stay, and which should go? Is this the end of the line for L.T. and Merriman in San Diego? And what positions should the Chargers focus on with their early picks in the 2010 draft? Chris and Craig get a leg up on a busy offseason with this 619 Sports Chargers podcast:
It never looks good to get torched for 450 passing yards, but the Chargers still did a number of things well defensively in their 31-23 win over the Eagles. Antonio Cromartie joined 619 Sports to discuss the crossing patterns that Philadelphia used so well:
Shawne Merriman was part of a pass rush that struggled to approach Donovan McNabb, who threw 55 times and was sacked just twice. Shawne talked about the team’s red zone defense and more:
ShareThe Chargers managed a memorable Escape From New York last week, and many on the team have called it a stepping stone victory. All well and good, but before the Bolts get used to the view from atop that stone, they better realize their next step will be a doozy. If the Chargers don’t back [...]

After the game the Bolts hopped on their phones and laptops to start tweeting their relief, offer analysis of key plays and more. Antonio Cromatie even took responsibility for the blown coverage between himself and Clinton Hart on [...]
ShareThe power of a pro sports team to inspire was on display Friday morning in Coronado, as thousands gathered at Naval Base San Diego to cheer their Chargers through what amounted to a lot of standing around. For military families, injured soldiers, officers and gentlemen, Friday’s visit by the Chargers served as an opportunity to [...]
ShareFirst, thanks to the fans for not filling up the “Q” so that Saturday night’s preseason opener against Seattle had to be tape-delayed on television. I tuned in at 10:30, and about all I had in me was one quarter.
I’ll leave it to the rest of you to break down what happened after that (and [...]
This is the Padres’ ironic lot: the curtain is coming down on them right as the team is getting their act together. While San Diego turns away, their baseball club is just now showing some stick, some speed, a collection of interesting arms and an identity all their own. Nobody may notice, but the Padres are going to be worth watching down the stretch.
