But, led by Jimmer Fredette (above, 26 pts.), the Cougars kept the Aztecs squarely on the March Madness bubble, 82-68… Meanwhile, at Viejas Arena, the SDSU women knocked BYU out of the MWC lead, 73-71.

Swept by SDSU’s men’s and women’s teams to open MWC play last month, the New Mexico Lobos bit back on Saturday. Darington Hobson (above) hit two free throws with 2.7 left to beat SDSU’s men in OT, 88-86. The women had their 14-game MWC home win streak snapped, 65-58.
