Whitehurst Deal A Gift To Chargers

Post image for Whitehurst Deal A Gift To Chargers

by Craig on March 20, 2010

Feeling down about the Chargers’ offseason?  So were we, until an unexpected gift from Seattle this week.  Unable to find a washed-up ex-USC quarterback to build around, new Seahawks coach Pete Carroll instead decided to trade for Chargers’ 3rd string quarterback Charlie Whitehurst.

During nearly a half-hour press conference, LT alternated between reminiscing about his Chargers days and positioning himself for a career he still thinks has up to four more years.  After LT was done, Craig and Chris sat outside the country club to discuss what they had just heard:

Drew Brees hands off to LaDainian Tomlinson when the two played together with the Chargers. Now that he’s with the Saints — and headed to the Super Bowl — do I still need to root for him? If so, does that I mean I have to become a fan of whatever team LT plays for next season?
