In a game that was too close for comfort, a season-best performance by Chiky Luna led the San Diego Sockers to an 11-7 victory over Vitesse Dallas at the Del Mar Arena in the U.S. Open Cup semifinals.  Luna scored five goals in the second half, including the tie-breaking power play strike in the 4th quarter to make it 8-7.
